How to install eSIM on iPhone (iOS)
Method 1 — Direct eSIM Installation Link
If you are using iOS 15 or newer, you can install your eSIM directly using the installation link. Open the link on the same device where you want to install the eSIM.
- Open the installation link on your iPhone
- Your device will automatically open the eSIM installation screen
- Tap Allow and then Add Cellular Plan
- Your eSIM profile will install automatically
Method 2 — Install Using QR Code
- Open Settings
- Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
- Select Add Cellular Plan or Add eSIM
- Choose Use QR Code
- Position the QR code in the camera frame
- Tap Add Cellular Plan
Method 3 — Install Using Activation Code
If your device cannot scan the QR code, you can manually enter the eSIM details.
- Go to Settings
- Tap Cellular
- Select Add Cellular Plan
- Tap Enter Details Manually
- Enter the following information:
SM-DP+ Address
smdp.io
Activation Code
K2-XXXXXXXXXXXX
How to set up eSIM on Android
Method 1 — Direct eSIM Installation Link
If your device runs Android 10 or newer, you may install the eSIM using a direct installation link.
The eSIM profile will automatically install on your device.
Limitations:
- Android 10 or newer is required
- The latest SIM Manager (LPA) must be installed
- The installation link must be opened using apps like Chrome, Gmail or SMS
- Supported devices typically include Samsung, Google Pixel and OPPO
Method 2 — Install Using QR Code
- Open Settings
- Go to Network & Internet
- Select Mobile Network
- Tap the + icon or Add eSIM
- Choose Scan QR Code
- Scan the QR code provided
- Confirm installation and tap Activate
Method 3 — Install Using Activation Code
If you cannot scan the QR code, you can enter the activation details manually.
- Open Settings
- Go to Network & Internet
- Select Mobile Network
- Tap Add eSIM
- Select Enter Code Manually
- Enter the code in this format:
LPA:1$smdp.io$ACTIVATIONCODE
Activation
To activate the eSIM, follow these steps:
- Turn on your eSIM under Mobile Network
- Enable Mobile Data
- Enable Data Roaming
- If internet does not work, check your APN settings
Change the Label of Your eSIM
Labeling your eSIM helps you easily identify it on your device.
To rename your eSIM on Android:
- Open Settings
- Go to Connections
- Select SIM card manager
- Select your eSIM
- Edit the label
