Install your eSIM on Android

Follow the steps below to add your Vakansim eSIM and prepare your phone for your trip.

Open Settings

Open the Settings app on your Android phone.

Add an eSIM

Tap Add SIM, Add eSIM, or the equivalent option on your device.

Install manually

Choose manual setup and enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your Vakansim email, or paste the full activation code if supported.

Enable the eSIM

Turn on your newly installed Vakansim eSIM in the SIMs list.

Select for mobile data

Set your Vakansim eSIM as the SIM for Mobile data when you want to use it.

Enable Data Roaming

Open your Vakansim eSIM settings and turn Roaming on.

Don't forget Data Roaming

Your Vakansim eSIM uses partner mobile networks while you travel. Data Roaming must be enabled on the Vakansim eSIM for mobile data to work.

Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Vakansim → Roaming → ON

Enable roaming only for your Vakansim travel eSIM — not for your home SIM unless you need it.

You're ready to connect

Your Vakansim eSIM is installed. When you're ready to use it, select Vakansim for mobile data and make sure Data Roaming is enabled.

Troubleshooting

I can't find Add eSIM

Make sure your iPhone or Android device supports eSIM and is not carrier-locked. Update to the latest iOS or Android version, then look under Cellular / Mobile Data (iPhone) or Network & internet → SIMs (Android). Check our device compatibility page if you're unsure.

My eSIM is installed but I have no internet

Confirm that Vakansim is selected for mobile data and that Data Roaming is enabled on the Vakansim eSIM. Your data plan starts when you connect to a supported network at your destination — install before you travel, activate when you arrive.

I can't see the roaming option

Open the settings for your Vakansim eSIM specifically (not your primary SIM). On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → [your Vakansim line] → Data Roaming. On Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Vakansim → Roaming.

My phone says the eSIM cannot be activated

Check that you entered the activation details correctly and that you have a stable internet connection. The QR code or activation code can usually only be used once. If the problem continues, contact our support team.

I accidentally removed the eSIM

If you deleted the eSIM from your device, you may not be able to reinstall it with the same code. Do not remove the eSIM after installation. Contact our support team for help.

Which SIM should I use for mobile data?

Keep your home SIM for calls and texts if you like, but select your Vakansim eSIM for mobile data when travelling. You can switch back to your home SIM when you return.
